Each year we aim to put on at least two rallies for people to attend. One being our annual static rally which attracts a huge range of exhibits and grows and grows as the years pass

The other a combined run and static show during which we aim to raise funds for a nominated local charity.

Static Rally

Our annual static rally will take place on Sunday 18th July 2010. It will be held at The Malting's Meadow Sports Ground, Ditchingham, Bungay Suffolk. Access to the venue is just off the A143 "Chicken Roundabout".

THE MOST EASTERLY CLASSIC VEHICLE RUN IN BRITAIN 2010

To Pontin’s Holiday Centre, Pakefield near Lowestoft

In aid of

‘The Lowestoft visually impaired activities group’

Dear Classic Vehicle Enthusiast

On Sunday, 29 August 2010, the Lowestoft Classic Vehicle Club is organising a Classic Vehicle Run/Show.  Our Club Members voted that this year’s beneficiary would be, ‘The Lowestoft Visually Impaired Activities Group, (LVIAG).  This is a local charity and I hope the following information will give you some idea of what the Group is trying to achieve.

When someone loses all, or some, of their sight it can have a devastating effect on them and their family. The things which were taken for granted such as reading, watching television, using computers or actively taking part in some outdoor hobby such as football or cycling may no longer be possible leaving them feeling very alone and isolated.

The aim of the LVIAG is to give registered blind and partially sighted people of all ages the opportunity to meet others with the same disability and take part in recreational and sporting activities at an affordable cost, thus giving them new hobbies and the chance to make new friends with similar interests.

Since 2001 the Group has increased the number of activities they take part in - darts (yes darts), quizzes, card games, rifle shooting, sailing, canoeing, rambling, trips to the dog races at Yarmouth Stadium and the theatre.  We are now looking into the possibility of New Age Curling, without the ice! (The Curling stones run on ball bearings on smooth flooring.)

Although nothing can make up for the loss of sight, it is hoped that by providing as many different activities as possible, there should be something for everyone and the social welfare of blind and partially sighted people may be improved in some small way.
